Job summary

Valcor Engineering Corporation in New Jersey is seeking a hands‑on Technician to assemble, test, and verify advanced fluid‑control components for aerospace, nuclear, and other high‑precision applications. This role emphasizes reading blueprints, using high‑precision tools, and operating cleanroom processes.

This position requires 1+ year of technical maintenance experience and comfort in a manufacturing environment with lifting up to 50 lbs, plus strong problem‑solving and teamwork abilities.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 1+ years of technical or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and procedures.
  • Experience assembling and testing electro‑mechanical hardware.
  • Hands‑on experience with high‑pressure fluid, gas, and cryogenic testing.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing including dielectric tests.
  • Strong computer literacy (Word/Excel).
  • Experience in clean-room environments.

Responsibilities

  • Perform assembly and performance testing of fluid‑control devices per procedures.
  • Operate high‑pressure test systems and calibration fluid stands.
  • Conduct electrical testing and verification with diagnostic tools.
  • Work in clean-room environments and collect accurate data.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and validate hardware using diagnostics.
  • Use oscilloscopes and other equipment to support tests.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, organized work area.
  • Lift and move equipment up to 50 lbs as needed.

Technician

A Technician performs the assembly, testing, and verification of advanced fluid‑control components for Aerospace, Nuclear and other applications. This role is ideal for a hands‑on technician who thrives in a precision manufacturing environment and enjoys working with complex electro‑mechanical systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform assembly and performance testing of mechanical and/or electro‑mechanical fluid‑control devices in accordance with engineering procedures, blueprints, and schematics.
  • Operate, maintain, and help develop high‑pressure test systems, including pneumatic, hydraulic, and calibration‑fluid test stands and pumps.
  • Conduct electrical testing and verification using a variety of electronic diagnostic tools.
  • Work within controlled clean‑room environments and conduct particulate analysis with accurate data collection.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and validate hardware using systematic diagnostic methods.
  • Utilize oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic equipment to support testing and analysis.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
  • Lift and move equipment or components up to 50lbs as needed.
Required Skills & Experience
  • Minimum 1+ years of technical or mechanical maintenance experience.
  • Experience using various hand and measurement tools including but not limited to torque wrenches, height gauges, and calipers.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical procedures.
  • Proven experience assembling and testing electro‑mechanical hardware.
  • Hands‑on experience with high‑pressure fluid, gas, and cryogenic testing.
  • Proficiency in electrical testing, including dielectric and insulation‑resistance testing.
  • Strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience working in clean‑room environments.
  • Manufacturing or machining experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair hardware using diagnostic tools.
Education
  • Minimum: High School Diploma
  • Preferred: Vocational school graduate, Associate Degree or Certificate in Engineering Technology
Additional Considerations
  • Strong team orientation and ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Capable of working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Willingness to mentor junior technicians.
