Job Description Summary
The Flooring Solutions Technician 2 will coordinate with the leadership team to provide an exemplary level of service to our customers, demonstrating skills and performance in the use, operation, set up, and repair of all company equipment. The role requires a professional appearance, positive communication, and a commitment to safety and equipment readiness.
Position Responsibilities:
- Performs check‑ins when equipment is returned to the shop
- Assists with loading and unloading of equipment as needed
- Cleans, pressure washes, and prepares equipment for repairs and details it for rent‑ready status
- Performs full‑service maintenance on all equipment, diagnoses, and repairs most mechanical problems
- Maintains a safe work environment and adheres to safety standards
- Tracks inventory, coordinates deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls with customers
- Maintains warehouse area
- Orders and installs necessary parts to meet standards
- Sources and manages inventory of parts and supplies
- Completes and maintains equipment service records, including damage repair, preventative maintenance, and warranty processing
- Ensures decals are replaced, equipment is cleaned, and detailed
- Operates the company vehicle safely; maintains a valid driver’s license and a clean driving record
- Maintains vehicle records, washes, performs oil changes, and conducts safety inspections; reports any defects to the supervisor
- Manages company tools and supplies; reports broken tools for replacement
- Oversees and maintains the wash bay and wash bay area for proper maintenance, preventative maintenance, and a clean environment
- Communicates professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls
- Completes appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls
- Directs customers to sign paperwork and tracks serial numbers
- Delivers and installs rented equipment; trains authorized operators (and/or customers) on safe use
- Implements proper and safe procedures
- Works with managers and rental specialists to maintain accurate records and tracking of in‑stock and rented equipment
- Is on call for emergency service and is available on a rotating schedule for weekend and evening emergency service calls
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of mechanic experience with IC engines, propane, electrical, and hydraulic systems
- High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training desired
- Must provide personal mechanic’s tools of trade
- Excellent troubleshooting skills
- Ability to prioritize work assignments
- Can work independently and flexibly with changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
- High degree of safety‑awareness; knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements
- Prior floor care equipment experience strongly preferred
Base Pay Range: $21.38 - $29.39 per hour
