Flooring Solutions Technician 1

Position Objective

The Flooring Solutions Technician 1 will coordinate with the leadership team to provide an exemplary level of service to our customers, demonstrating skills and performance in the use, operation, set up and repair of all company equipment. The role requires professionalism through positive communication and appearance, and involves cleaning equipment, performing preventive maintenance, and making minor repairs to avoid downtime.

Position Responsibilities

  • Check‑in equipment and perform minor repairs when returned to the shop
  • Assist with loading and unloading of equipment as needed
  • Clean, pressure‑wash, and prepare equipment for repairs; detail for rent‑ready status
  • Perform full‑service maintenance and diagnose simple mechanical problems
  • Maintain a safe work environment and adhere to safety standards
  • Track rental equipment inventory and coordinate deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls with customers
  • Maintain the warehouse area and ensure it is organized and safe
  • Order, repair, and install necessary parts to meet service standards
  • Source and manage inventory of parts and supplies
  • Maintain equipment service records (damage repair, preventive maintenance, warranty processing)
  • Replace decals, clean, and detail equipment as required
  • Operate company vehicle safely; maintain a valid driver’s license and excellent driving record
  • Maintain vehicle records, including washing, oil changes, and safety inspections; report defects
  • Track and manage company tools and supplies; report broken tools for replacement
  • Oversee wash bay upkeep and ensure a clean, safe environment
  • Communicate professionally with customers, managers, and sales engineers to schedule deliveries and service calls
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick‑ups, and service calls
  • Direct customers to sign paperwork and track serial numbers
  • Deliver and install rented equipment; train operators on safe use
  • Implement proper and safe procedures at all times
  • Collaborate with managers and equipment rental specialists to maintain accurate records of in‑stock and rented equipment
  • Be available on the rotating schedule for emergency service response calls on weekends and evenings

Requirements

  • 1 to 3 years of mechanic experience with internal combustion engines, propane, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • High school diploma or GED required; trade school or equivalent training preferred
  • Must provide personal mechanic's tools of trade
  • Excellent trouble‑shooting skills
  • Ability to prioritize work assignments and work independently
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities in a fast‑paced environment
  • High degree of safety‑awareness and working knowledge of equipment design and safety requirements
  • Prior floor care equipment experience strongly preferred

Base Pay Range

$18.62 - $25.59 per hour
