Job summary

Connection is seeking a Technician 2 in the Configuration lab to upgrade and configure computer systems and other products ordered by customers, ranging from moderate to advanced complexity. You will work under direct supervision of the Team Leader Integration Center.

The role emphasizes following work instructions, ensuring hardware and software compatibility, and supporting Technician 1. You'll perform assigned duties and participate in special projects in a fast-paced IT environment.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Strong technical aptitude and ability to absorb and apply newly learned technical skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office; ability to create documents or simple spreadsheets.
• Experience configuring computer systems.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate to advanced configuration with minimal supervision.
• Ensures hardware/software on the customer’s system is compatible and up to date; supports Technician 1.
• Performs other duties or special projects as assigned.

Technician 2

Working under direct supervision of the Team Leader Integration Center, selecting from a variety of established procedures to accomplish assigned duties and responsibilities, the Technician 2, Configuration is responsible for upgrading, and configuring computer systems and other products ordered by customers, ranging from moderate to advanced complexity levels.

Responsibilities

• Performs moderate to advanced configuration jobs with minimal to no assistance from Senior Technicians and Leads while following Work Instruction Documents (WIDs).
• Ensures that hardware/software installed on customer’s system is compatible, and at the desired version level. Provides assistance and support to Technician 1 as possible.
• Performs all other duties or special projects as assigned.

USD $28.89/Hr.

Qualifications

• Degree requirements: Associate's Degree or the equivalent combination of education and work experience

• Technical aptitude with ability to absorb and apply newly learned technical skills
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite with ability to create a document or simple spreadsheet.
• Strong knowledge of, and the ability to identify components and software used in computers.
• Advanced technical aptitude with ability to work in at least 2 areas of the configuration lab
• Hands-on experience with configuring computer systems.
• Strong understanding of and working knowledge of the value added technology industry
• Technology reading comprehension with ability to read more advanced work instruction documents or schematics.
• Technology troubleshooting and mechanical skills.
• Good customer service skills.
• Adaptable with ability to switch tasks based on shifting priorities
