Job summary

Nucraft in Michigan is seeking a skilled engineer to create products in the specials department. The role involves hands-on machine operation, quality inspection, and cross‑department support in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities include setup and operation of multiple woodworking tools, routine maintenance, and collaboration across teams to meet specifications and schedules. This is a full‑time, on‑site position with standard weekday hours and overtime on posted days.

Responsibilities

  • Engineer product.
  • Set up and operate the table saw, drill press, panel saw, overhead router, stroke sander, edge bander, planer, joiner, wide belt sander, black brothers press, edge sander, band saw, cut-off saw, and rip saw.
  • Inspect parts for defects and to ensure product meets specifications.
  • Forward parts to assembly.
  • Weekly preventative maintenance checks.
  • Daily housekeeping of machine and area to keep clean.
  • Assist other departments as necessary

Work Environment
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment can be loud. Hearing protection and mask or respirators are provided for where required.
Computer Skills
  • Some machines require computer skills.
Expected Hours
  • This is a full-time position, and hours of work and days are Monday through Friday 6:00am to 2:30pm.
  • Overtime is expected when posted in advance.
Physical Requirements
  • The physical demands described here are representative of those who must be met by an associate to successfully preform the essential functions of this job.
  • The associate is occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The associate must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
