Job Description

Within BD Medical, Medical Delivery Solution, the Validation & Verification Laboratory is hiring a Technician II. This position will play a critical role in supporting the group’s efforts with respect to medical device testing. The V&V Lab, which supports all product development and product engineering platforms across MDS, is looking for a talent, meticulous, and passionate individual to help the team by way of expertise and efficiency in a variety of mechanical and physical testing of medical device products. In addition to testing, this associate may also contribute to the improvement of existing testing methodologies, measurement system development & analysis of test methods. The testing performed in this role will help ensure that our products meet our customer’s expectations and regulatory requirements. Knowledge of product development, processes, regulatory, quality requirements and design controls is required.

This person will be hands on, adept with hand tools and equipment, have strong attention to detail, and have the ability to work with moderate supervision. Medical device testing experience preferred.

  • Experience testing medical device product for Design Verification and Shelf Life.
  • Experience using Instron Tensile tester (Bluehill or Universal)
  • Careful, deliberate, disciplined, meticulous, and well organized in performing laboratory tests and recording results
  • Good interpersonal, communication and influencing skills
  • Proven ability to quickly learn new subject matter.
  • Must be able to perform the job using appropriate Personal Protective Equipment, as Lab coat, Safety glasses, safety shoes.
  • Familiar with standards and regulations (ISO, FDA, OSHA, ASTM).
  • Able to read and follows Standard Operation Procedures, Good Laboratories Practices, Good Documentation Practices knowledge.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) Degree and minimum of 1 years of experience in a regulated industry / laboratory setting

OR

  • Associates in Applied Science (AAS) and minimum of 2 years of experience in a regulated industry / laboratory setting

OR

  • High School Diploma and minimum of 6 years of experience in a regulated industry / laboratory setting.
