Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM (With an On-Call Rotation)
Job Overview
4 Corner Resources is currently seeking a dedicated Field Technician I to join our client’s team in Orlando, FL. This role is responsible for performing preventive and corrective maintenance on Intelligent Transportation Systems and other field devices to ensure optimal functionality. The position is fully onsite and requires travel, working in various environments, including roadside and elevated positions.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical and electronic equipment in the field.
- Perform preventative maintenance and corrective repairs as needed.
- Respond to maintenance requests and emergencies within a suitable timeframe.
- Conduct diagnostic tests on devices to ensure proper functionality.
- Perform manual repairs and general upkeep procedures as required.
- Maintain accurate reports on technical status and corrective measures taken.
- Install, maintain, and repair equipment such as cameras, fiber optic cables, controller cabinets, pull boxes, Linux-based platforms, detectors, and Network communications.
- Prepare and complete reports, logs, and perform shift-to-shift communications.
- Diagnose and repair hardware, software, and system issues.
- Restore equipment to operational status as quickly as possible.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 2+ years of technical hands-on experience preferred.
- Strong understanding of diagnostics, troubleshooting, and hardware repair fundamentals.
- Ability to read and interpret safety rules, maintenance instructions, and technical manuals.
- Must have a valid driver’s license, a clean driving record, and be at least 21 years old.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and work in physically demanding conditions (bending, kneeling, stooping, lifting, etc.).
- Proficient in networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP.
- Ability to work on weekends, nights, and overnights as needed.
- Comfortable working on the roadside and in bucket trucks.
Preferred Skills & Experience
- Class B CDL license
- Experience in troubleshooting and repairing CCTV/ MVDS/ DMS signs
- Background in electronic toll collection systems, RFID, ANPR, or traffic control equipment is highly preferred.
