Job summary

The Sammons Industrial team is seeking a Service Technician I to keep material handling equipment running safely and reliably. In the shop or at customer sites, you’ll diagnose issues, perform repairs, and help customers stay productive with your mechanical skills and a strong safety focus.

Your work directly supports customer success and reinforces Briggs’ trusted relationships, with on-site work, on-call rotation, and ongoing opportunities to learn and certify.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of experience in forklift repair, heavy equipment, automotive, diesel, or related mechanical field.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service with a team-first attitude.
• Valid driver’s license, ability to lift up to 75 pounds, and on-call rotation availability.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, and rebuild mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and powertrain systems on material handling equipment (propane, gas, diesel, electric).
• Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, and failure analysis to meet manufacturer specs.
• Complete service documentation, manage parts and supplies, and ensure timely work.
• Follow safety standards, OSHA and DOT requirements, and maintain a clean work area.

What You’ll Do

• Perform preventative maintenance, equipment inspections, and failure analysis to keep equipment operating according to manufacturer specifications.
• Complete service documentation, maintain parts and supplies, and ensure work is performed accurately and on time.
• Follow all company safety standards, OSHA and DOT requirements, participate in safety initiatives, and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
