A little about us

If you are looking for a challenging rewarding career, then consider joining the Lake Assault Boats production team. Using welding and other tools we join aluminum components to fabricate custom aluminum boats. Our customers include the US Navy and multiple police and fire departments. We provide a safe and challenging work environment that is mostly done in an indoor and heated shop and take great pride in knowing that we build a product that helps serve and protect others.

Your role as a Technician

As a Technician at Lake Assault Boats, you will play a pivotal role in the manufacturing process of cutting-edge aluminum boats tailored to meet diverse customer needs. Your responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting advanced 12 volt and 110 electrical systems, alongside marine-specific components. You will have the opportunity to analyze engineering drawings and schematics, ensuring that all technical parts are correctly installed to comply with regulatory specifications, resulting in exceptional boat quality. Your expertise will extend to mechanical drive systems and the assembly of components such as engines, drivelines, and hydraulic systems.

Safety is paramount, and you will operate equipment and tools while adhering to strict safety standards. Additionally, your proactive approach in reporting issues to supervisors ensures seamless operations and contributes to the overall success of each project. Would you be a great Technician?

To excel as a Technician at Lake Assault Boats, candidates must possess a strong mechanical background and familiarity with a diverse range of assembly tools. Effective communication skills are crucial for collaborating in close corridors, ensuring smooth interactions with team members and supervisors. Attention to detail and accuracy is essential to adhere to standard build practices and maintain high-quality outputs. Candidates should demonstrate problem-solving abilities and critical thinking when troubleshooting systems under supervision.

Proficiency in mathematics will aid in precise measurements and calculations, while time management skills are necessary to prioritize tasks effectively. Active listening is vital for understanding directions and feedback, promoting a cohesive work environment. While aluminum welding skills are beneficial, they are not mandatory. A high school diploma or GED is required, and prior experience in the maritime industry is preferred.

Candidates must also be physically able to navigate tight spaces, lift heavy objects, and work in varying weather condition. This position requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, kneeling, crawling, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity. Must be able to work in tight spaces and awkward positions for long periods of time. Must be able to conduct inside and outside work in all temperatures. Use of manufacturing equipment. Work in areas at times that are not environmentally controlled. Able to move/lift/pull/push 50 lbs. Ability to get underway with high speed watercraft in variable weather conditions.

Employees must provide their own basic hand tools such as screw drivers, etc.
