Job summary

Geo-Logic Associates is seeking a full-time Environmental Technician in St. Charles, IL to support civil/site infrastructure, solid waste, and environmental remediation projects. The role is based on-site with an emphasis on hands-on field work.

As an entry-level technician, you will perform basic trade activities, monitor safety regulations, assist with equipment, and document work. Travel up to 50% nationwide; OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in environmental sampling.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurer.

Responsibilities

• Communicates with area manager, surveyors, estimators, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion.
• Understands pump controls and piping configurations.
• Understands landfill drawings and layouts.
• Understands and uses testing, calibration, and monitoring equipment.
• Performs various inspections and maintenance tasks.
• Maintains records and logs of work performed and materials and equipment used.

Geo-Logic Associates (GLA) is a privately-held, multidisciplinary, geologic, geotechnical, hydrogeologic, civil, and environmental consulting firm. Our highly experienced professionals manage projects through 34 US office locations and an office in Peru. GLA is currently seeking a full-time Environmental Technician to provide support for civil/site infrastructure, solid waste, and environmental remediation projects.

We have an immediate opening for an entry level Environmental Technician. The Environmental Technician will be performing basic trade activities, such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing, piping, carpentry, concrete work, monitoring safety regulations, and performing other duties as assigned. Position will report to the Area Manager in the Concord, NC office. Specific duties may include, but are not limited to:

• Communicates with area manager, surveyors, estimators, contractors, and project managers to ensure that projects are completed in a timely fashion.
• Understands pump controls and piping configurations.
• Understands landfill drawings and layouts.
• Understands and uses testing, calibration, and monitoring equipment.
• Understands how SCADA systems operate.
• Performs various inspections.
• Performs various maintenance tasks.
• Inventories and requests equipment and supplies as needed.
• Maintains records and logs of work performed and materials and equipment used.

Required Qualifications

• Be eligible to work in the United States
• Experience in environmental sampling
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
• Possess a valid driver's license and maintain a driving record acceptable to our insurerExperience in environmental sampling

Preferred Qualifications

• 1+ years experience in any of the above listed trades.
• Experience with plastic piping, electronic controls and excavating is helpful.
• OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-hour annual HAZWOPER training
• 50% of work will require travel within the United States.
