Your Opportunity + Impact

This environmental technician position will have an emphasis on field work and will cover a wide range of subject matters. This includes experience with subjects such as geology and geotechnical, infiltration testing, hazardous waste, wetlands, streams, botanical, farmlands, and wildlife habitat. Office activities may include assistance with report writing, equipment maintenance, NEPA document preparation, and permit application preparation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work long field days in adverse weather conditions
  • Lift, carry and operate manual equipment up to 50 lbs in weight
  • Gather necessary data and recommend action plan to mitigate identified issues
  • Prepare and/ or review reports, calculations, technical papers, and presentations as directed
  • Ensure both client and in‑house quality assurance & quality control processes are followed
  • Assist in preparation and submissions of geotechnical and environmental documents for assigned projects
  • Assist in the coordination with state and federal agencies
  • Maintain professional certifications in fields of expertise as needed
Education and Experience
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Environmental Management, Environmental Science, Biology, or related field of study; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 0 to 3 years job‑related experience
Preferred Qualifications
  • Pa Chapter 102 and 105 permitting experience is a plus
  • Knowledge of stream design and stormwater management is a plus
  • Knowledge and experience of permitting and regulatory requirements relative in OH, PA, NY, or WV is a plus. Wetland delineation, ArcGIS, and AutoCADD experience a plus
  • The candidate must be able to safely perform field assignments including site reconnaissance, logging of test borings, construction inspection, and materials field testing
  • Knowledge and experience classifying soil and rock with the Unified Soil Classification System is a plus
  • Field data analysis and interpretation, computer analysis and modeling with programs such as Geosystem, gINT, Slide (RocScience), LPILE and Bluebeam Revu is a plus
  • PennDOT Drilling Inspection Certification is a plus
