Job summary

Transdev in Redwood City, CA is seeking a Technician to maintain and repair electric transit vehicles and associated systems. You will inspect, diagnose, and service fleet equipment while ensuring safety, reliability, and compliance with company standards.

Technician

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced technician to join our elite team in Redwood City, CA. As a key member, you will be entrusted with ensuring safe and comfortable transportation for our passengers, while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and customer service.

Transdev is proud to offer technician Position:

  • Starting pay: $32.00 - $42.00 depending on experience
Benefits include:

Key Responsibilities:
  • Performs transit vehicle maintenance that are compliant with Transdev standards
  • Inspects, diagnoses, services and/or repairs all assigned electric transit vehicles and related mechanical equipment
  • Ensures accurate upgrades and/or modifications on coach systems, road calls, and on-the-road repairs as needed
  • Other duties as required
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 21 years old with a high school diploma, GED or equivalent.
  • 2+ years experience with all types of heavy duty transit equipment.
  • Appropriate Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to read, interpret safety documents, blue prints, schematics and other mechanical and electrical diagrams.
  • Ability to pass a DOT physical examination and drug test, and sign a FCRA form in order to check your criminal and employment background.
  • Must have a valid drivers license with a clean driving record, CDL preferred but training provided.
Physical Requirements:

The essential functions of this position require the ability to:

  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to manipulate, handle or feel; reach with hands or arms; and talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to sit.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel crouch or crawl; and smell.
  • Occasionally required to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Must be able to work in extreme heat and cold and in a damp environment with moderate noise.
  • May be exposed to water, fumes, and chemicals.
