Job summary

LyondellBasell Industries in Pasadena, TX, is seeking a Maintenance Analyzer Technician to keep process analyzers and their support systems operating safely and reliably. You will execute planned work, document deviations, and participate in reliability initiatives to reduce unplanned maintenance.

You bring 5+ years of analyzer maintenance experience or a degree in analyzer technologies, plus hands-on experience with GC, IR, CEMS, and related equipment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of analyzer maintenance experience in chemical/refining industries.
• Experience with on-line analyzers such as GC, IR, CEMS, Oxygen, and Water Quality.
• Knowledge of analyzer technologies and hardware applicable to petrochemical plants.
• Understanding sample conditioning principles and hardware.
• Familiar with engineering codes/standards and their application.
• Strong analytical skills and safety focus.
• Ability to climb and enter confined spaces.

The BYO Polymers plant is seeking a Maintenance Analyzer Technician to join our dynamic team. In this position, you will be tasked to apply technical expertise daily to insure the safe and reliable operation of site equipment and to reduce operating costs by executing assigned work according to plan and schedule, noting any job plan deviations, and providing input on improvement opportunities. You will participate in reliability teams to identify and implement reliability driven improvements and committees dealing with investigations, policy and procedure development.

A Day in the Life

• Maintains the process analyzers and their support systems
• Generates and reviews procedures
• Develops and implements solutions to improve Analyzer MTBR and reduce unplanned maintenance events
• Provides technical direction for engineering contractors on analysis equipment
• Identifies areas where analyzers can improve plant operations and profitability
• Identifies obsolete and/or antiquated analyzers and corresponding business and process appropriate solutions
• Provides assistance with FAT and SATs, commissioning and checkouts
• Assists in the pre-commissioning and start-up of new processes on an as needed basis as detailed in the execution plan to ensure adequate transfer of custody and care to plant operations

You Bring This Value

• Minimum 5 years of Analyzer maintenance experience in a chemical, refining or other process related industry or a degree in Analyzer technologies.
• Experience with on-line analyzers such as GC, IR, CEMS, Oxygen, Water Quality, Gas Detection, etc., in a refinery, petrochemical plant, or similar industry
• Understands various analyzer technologies and hardware and how they apply to petrochemical plants
• Understands sample conditioning principles and hardware and how to apply them to process analyzer systems
• Demonstrated working knowledge of all applicable engineering codes/standards and their application.
• Thorough knowledge of operating processes, equipment, and materials, as well as critical analytical skills are needed to effectively evaluate equipment performance and problems
• Advanced level of interpersonal capability to provide timely and effective problem solving
• Strong customer focus in order to understand priorities and ensure key business objectives are met in Safety and Reliability.
• Ability to climb and enter confined work spaces
