Job summary

Daifuku is seeking an experienced maintenance technician to support Baggage Handling Systems and Passenger Boarding Bridges at an airport environment in North Charleston, SC. The role involves performing scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, diagnosing equipment issues, and guiding junior staff as needed.

The ideal candidate has at least two years of mechanical or electrical experience, can read repair manuals and schematics, and is able to work weekends/holidays and in tight spaces with proper

Responsibilities

• Completes scheduled and unscheduled maintenance and repair of Baggage Handling Systems and/or Passenger Boarding Bridges; Mentors, trains and assigns tasks of other personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities in the absence of Senior Technicians and/or Supervisors.
• Completes basic maintenance assignments involving preventive, routine and emergency maintenance, clearing system jams; shift inspections, cleaning, and/or electrical and mechanical adjustments.
• Diagnoses equipment failures under the guidance of senior personnel; ensures equipment is running safely.
• Takes direction and seeks guidance of senior personnel; accepts training and mentoring.
• Provides direction and guidance to personnel; conducts training and mentoring responsibilities; may act as lead in absence of Sr. Technicians and/or supervisors.
• Reads and interprets repair manuals, basic schematics and supervisor/manager’s instructions.
• Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment.
• Follows and complies with all company and federally established policies and procedures; completes all applicable training courses.
• Completes forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures.
• Performs additional duties/assignments as required by management.
• Assists with basic maintenance such as sweeping, cleaning and greasing.
• Completes all safety training as assigned by the Company.
• Compliance with all ELS safety programs, policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties/assignments that may be required by management from time to time.

• High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED)
• Minimum 2 years of previous mechanical or electrical experience
• Ability to work a non-traditional schedule including weekends and holidays.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Previous work experience in an Airport environment.
• Previous experience working on conveyors and/or passenger boarding bridges
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and engineering drawings.
• Basic knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures in an industrial environment.
• HVAC, welding/ brazing, and/or plumbing knowledge and skills
