Job summary

PlanIT Group in Huntsville, AL seeks a Maintenance Technician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair military vehicles and related equipment at field or customer sites. Responsibilities include diagnosing malfunctions, performing preventive maintenance on M270/M270A1/HIMARS platforms, and providing technical guidance.

A high school diploma plus technical training and 1 year experience are required. Experience with gasoline/diesel engines and familiarity with Redstone Arsenal operations

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent with technical training and 1 year of experience.
• Familiar with gasoline and diesel engines.
• Willing to obtain required medical and DOT physicals and licenses after hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintain/troubleshoot wheeled and tracked military vehicles such as M270, M270A1, and HIMARS.
• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Provide on-site training and technical guidance to customer personnel when needed.
• Analyze performance and diagnose malfunctions to resolve issues quickly.

Job description

Installs, operates, maintains, repairs and modifies equipment. Performs a variety of maintenance and technical support on products such as equipment, integrated systems and subsystems, and software at customer and/or field locations. Analyzes and evaluates products and related performance. Troubleshoots and diagnoses malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time. Installs, upgrades and removes products ensuring coordinative engineering field change. Maintains effective customer communications and relations. May provide onsite training of customer support personnel.

Technician responsibilities will be maintaining/troubleshooting wheeled and track vehicles, such as M270, M270A1, and HIMARS vehicles.

Working on Military vehicles, MLRS, Bradley, M1A1, HUMVEE, HEMITT, etc. Bulldozers, front end loaders,

Render technical guidance to resolve difficult and unusual maintenance problems. Provide an analysis of maintenance program and recommendations that may be beneficial.

Mandatory: Familiar with gasoline and diesel engines. Troubleshooting skills on vehicles.

Desired: Familiar with Redstone Arsenal, AL operations. Familiar with engine and diesel engines.

Additional info:

High School diploma, or equivalent experience/combined education, with additional technical training equivalent to a technical Associate degree and/or demonstrated ability to perform assigned preventive and demand maintenance tasks and 1 Year of experience.

Will need to get the following license and physicals after hired on.

• Need Forklift Physical
• Need Government climatic physical
• Need Lockheed Martin Spirometer Physical
• Need DOT physical

Perform maintenance and troubleshooting on M270, M270A1, and HIMARS military vehicles.

Auto repair or diesel technician or mechanic working on Diesel vehicles and engines.

Perform operation, maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment used in material handling and ordnance testing, including systems related to warehouse vehicles (forklifts, tugs, small trailers, etc.).

Perform test and checkout of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic subsystems and complete systems located at field locations away from primary company operations. Perform preventive maintenance checks on safety equipment.
