Job summary

Donovan Marine in Harahan, LA is seeking a skilled technician to join our service team. You will troubleshoot electrical circuits, handle motor starters, use meters, and perform routine maintenance on hydraulic systems. Occasional travel to other locations is required and overtime may be expected.

Experience is preferred but general electrical and mechanical skills are required. You will read one-line drawings and ensure safety and policy compliance in a 24-hour operation.

Responsibilities:

• Troubleshooting basic electrical circuits
• Motor starters and start/stops
• Must know how to use multi-meter/ amp meter/ megger
• Terminate most common types of electrical equipment
• Read one-line drawings
• Perform routine maintenance and repairs to hydraulic steering pumps
• Ability to work with minimal to no supervision
• Assist in managing projects as assigned
• Travel occasionally for the company to work at other locations
• Follow all of Donovan Servicer & Repair operational policies
• Any other duties as needed or directed by management as it relates to Donovan Service & Repair operations
• Donovan Service & Repair is a 24-hour, operation and overtime is typically required.

Qualifications:

Physical

• Ability to lift and carry 50lbs for extended distances
• Ability to work in any and all adverse weather condition
• Ability to climb ladders, stairs and gangways up to 25 feet in height
• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch and work above head for extended periods of time
• Ability to operate Donovan Service & Repair vehicles in a safe manner

Practical Experience

• Previous experience in electrical service industry
• Good communications skills
• Professional manner in dealing with other employees, management and customers
• Organizational Skills
• Basic mechanical skills

Personal Background

• Must be capable of acquiring valid TWIC
• Must have valid driver’s license
• Must have clean driving record with no DWI convictions
• Must pass a criminal background check
• Must be able to pass a drug and alcohol test
