Job summary

Lancesoft in Niagara Falls, NY seeks a Technician to assemble micro-mechanical and electronic parts in a cleanroom, often under a microscope, and to test sensors and assemblies. You will solder fine-pitch components and follow schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to build assemblies and sub-assemblies.

The ideal candidate holds a High School diploma or equivalent and has hands-on ISO/clean room experience, with familiarity in test equipment.

Qualifications

• IPC J-STD-001 solder certification preferred.
• Experience with precision assembly under a microscope.

Job Description

• Assemble micro-mechanical and electronic components inside a cleanroom environment, often under a microscope
• Test and inspect assemblies and sensors
• Solder fine-pitch electronic components
• Work from schematics, blueprints and oral instructions to construct assemblies, sub-assemblies and components

Basic Qualifications (BQs)

• Ability to follow strict cleanroom protocols (gowning, masking, etc).
• High School diploma or equivalent

Desired Skills

• Experience building ultra-precision mechanical assemblies using a microscope
• Experience using electronics test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, etc.)
• Experience soldering fine-pitch electronic components
• Experience working in an ISO/clean room environment.
• IPC J-STD-001 solder certification.
• Technical degree in electronics or mechanical related curriculum
• Proven experience operating a binocular stereo microscope with a long working distance (allowing room for hands and micro-tools).
• Exceptional hand-eye coordination, depth perception, and steady hands for intricate bench work
• Ability to maintain intense concentration during repetitive, highly detailed tasks
• Prior hands-on background as a watchmaker, jeweller, mini painter, or similar micro-precision trade
