Job summary

Pavion is seeking a talented Lead Technician to join our security business unit. You will install and configure security systems, pull and route low-voltage cabling, and ensure integration with data center operations.

The role emphasizes collaboration with electricians and network specialists, safety, and accurate documentation. A high school diploma and 2–5 years of relevant experience are required, with NICET or Security+ preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of experience installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling.
• Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical work.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including pulling, routing, and terminating cables for security systems.
• Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components.

Responsibilities

• Cable Pulling and Management: Pull and route low-voltage cables to support security systems installation, ensuring neat organization and labeling.
• System Integration: Ensure smooth integration of security equipment with other data center systems.
• Installation Support: Assist in mounting equipment, connecting power/data cables, and initial power-ups.
• Conduit & Tray Work: Install and secure conduit and cable trays per blueprints.
• Troubleshooting: Identify and troubleshoot issues related to security system installations.
• Collaboration with Other Trades: Coordinate with electricians, network specialists, and others on site.
• Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow safety regulations on site.
• Documentation: Maintain installation records and configurations.
• Quality Control: Ensure installations meet standards and specs.

Pavion and our family of companies are seeking a talented and motivated Lead Technician to join our security business unit.

Primary Responsibilities:

Security System Installation: Assist in the installation and configuration of physical security systems, including cameras (CCTV), access control systems, alarm systems, and other related security technologies

Cable Pulling and Management: Pull and route low-voltage cables (including network, power, and video cables) to support security systems installation. Ensure that cables are neatly organized, labeled, and meet all relevant safety and quality standards

System Integration: Work with the installation team to ensure the smooth integration of security equipment with other systems within the data center

Installation Support: Help with the physical installation of cameras, access control panels, alarm systems, and other security devices. This includes mounting equipment, connecting power and data cables, and performing initial power-ups

Conduit & Tray Work: Install and secure electrical conduit and cable trays to house and route security system cabling according to blueprints and design specifications

Troubleshooting: Assist in identifying and troubleshooting any issues related to security system installations, cabling, or connectivity

Collaboration with Other Trades: Work closely with electricians, network specialists, and other trades during the construction process to ensure coordination of installation activities

Adherence to Safety Protocols: Follow all safety regulations and procedures while on the job site. Ensure that work is done safely, particularly when handling tools and electrical components

Documentation: Assist in maintaining accurate installation records, including the routing and labeling of cables, installed devices, and system configurations

Quality Control: Ensure that all installations meet company and industry standards for quality and security, following detailed blueprints and project specifications

Basic Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 2-5 years of experience in installing security systems or working with low-voltage cabling
• Prior experience with cable pulling, conduit installation, and other electrical work

• Knowledge of low-voltage systems, including how to pull, route, and terminate cables for security systems
• Basic understanding of electrical safety, tool usage, and security system components

Preferred Qualifications:

• Additional technical training or certifications in low-voltage electrical work or security systems installation (e.g., NICET, CompTIA Security+, etc.)
• Experience in new construction or data center environments
• Familiarity with the installation of security technologies such as CCTV, access control, and alarm systems
• Ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and security system designs
• Ability to lift and carry heavy materials, tools, and equipment (up to 50 lbs)
• Ability to work in confined spaces, elevated positions, and in construction environments
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a team environment
• Good communication skills to coordinate with other team members and supervisors

The hourly pay range for this position is $30.00-$40.00 per hour. The starting hourly pay will be determined based on qualifications, experience, education, skills, certifications, and internal equity. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package.
