Job summary

J&T Business Consulting in Annapolis Junction, MD, seeks a Technical Writer (Level 3) to author, oversee, and maintain technical documentation, training materials, and acquisition deliverables for cryptologic systems. Active TS/SCI with Polygraph is required.

You will translate engineering data into clear manuals and SOPs, lead documentation projects, and ensure compliance with NSA DS-89 and DoD publication guidelines.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with current Polygraph.
• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline plus 8+ years of writing experience on comparable programs, OR Master’s with 6+ years (master’s substitutes for 2 years), OR 12 years without a degree.
• Demonstrated ability to author documentation in compliance with NSA DS-89 and DoD frameworks.
• Technical breadth to document cryptologic systems, software workflows, and schematics.
• Proficiency with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.

Responsibilities

• Author, edit, and maintain complex technical publications, SOPs, and training materials.
• Develop DoD acquisition lifecycle documentation for electronic systems.
• Ensure all outputs comply with NSA DS-89 standards.
• Research by gathering data from engineering docs and discussions with staff.
• Interpret schematics and workflows to translate data into clear docs.
• Lead documentation projects with multiple contributors and timelines.
• Perform peer reviews and QA on team deliverables.
• Maintain the program’s internal documentation repository and library.
• Prepare high-level reports and briefings for diverse audiences using Word, PowerPoint, and Visio.
