Technical Writer (Contract)

Location: Remote (Manassas, VA) Contract Duration: Until November 28, 2025 Work Hours: 1st Shift

We're looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Writer to help craft our Strategic Plan. In this critical contract role, you'll transform complex ideas into clear, engaging content for diverse audiences including educators, parents, policymakers, and the community. You'll be responsible for synthesizing information, creating cohesive narratives, and ensuring the plan aligns with our overarching goals.

What You'll Do:

  1. Translate information from graphic organizers into polished, precise, and engaging prose that communicates our mission, vision, and objectives.
  2. Ensure technical accuracy while adapting content for diverse audiences with varying levels of familiarity with educational terminology.
  3. Review and revise drafts to maintain a consistent tone and style, aligning with our branding and communication standards.
  4. Meet deadlines and manage multiple rounds of stakeholder reviews to finalize a comprehensive Strategic Plan.

What We're Looking For:

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in the education sector or a similarly complex field.
  • Strong organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail, with a track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using graphic organizers or similar tools to structure information logically.
  • A highly collaborative mindset with demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat, and other relevant software tools.
  • Experience with visual communication tools is a plus.
