SUMMARY

Bering Government Services, LLC, a company within the BSNC family, is currently seeking a qualified Technical Writer – Physical Security and Force Protection. The Technical Writer will be responsible for supporting proposal development efforts by drafting, editing, and formatting technical sections within the Physical Security and Force Protection domain. This role ensures proposal content is accurate, compliant, compelling, and aligned with customer requirements.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The Essential Duties and Responsibilities are intended to present a descriptive list of the range of duties performed for this position and are not intended to reflect all duties performed within the job. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Research, draft, edit, and format proposal content specific to Security and Force Protection requirements.
  • Collaborate with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to develop accurate, persuasive proposal narratives.
  • Ensure all technical content complies with solicitation requirements, corporate standards, and customer expectations.
  • Translate complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and customer-focused content.
  • Work with Proposal Managers and Graphic Designers to integrate written content into cohesive proposal volumes.
  • Review and revise draft materials to ensure compliance, clarity, and consistency.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXPERIENCE, EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATION

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Technical Writing, or related field; advanced knowledge or degree in Security and Force Protection discipline.
  • 5+ years of technical writing experience, preferably in government proposal development.
  • Demonstrated experience working with SMEs to extract technical information.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Suite and Adobe tools.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to tailor writing style to a variety of technical audiences.
  • Experience writing proposals within the Security and Force Protection industry sector for government customers.
  • Familiarity with Shipley proposal process or equivalent methodologies.
  • Experience with federal contracting and FAR requirements.

DOT COVERED/SAFETY-SENSITIVE ROLE REQUIREMENTS

This position is not subject to federal requirements regarding Department of Transportation “safety-sensitive” functions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The job is performed in a remote setting with exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone system. The work described herein is a home office setting. Travel may be required.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFYING FACTORS

As a condition of employment, you will be required to pass a pre-employment drug screening and have acceptable background check results. If applicable to the contract, you must also obtain the appropriate clearance levels required and be able to obtain access to military installations.
