About the Work
The Aeronautical Safety Office provides global aeronautical geospatial intelligence in support of security objectives including safety of navigation (SoN), international obligations, and joint military operations. They prepare, compile, publish, distribute, and maintain all related Aeronautical GEOINT databases, products, and services as mandated by U.S. law and international treaties (SOLAS). SFA serves as the source for authoritative worldwide aeronautical geospatial information, products, and services in support of global naval operations and safety of life in the air while managing all Aeronautical GEOINT production programs.
Create and revise technical documents including NGA manuals, reports, brochures, or articles. Write and edit technical documents such as reference manuals and product manuals. Determine the most suitable publication type to meet project requirements. Engage with NGA engineers, programmers, and project managers to learn about specific products or processes. Assess the audience needs for whom the documentation is intended; adjust tone and technical terminology accordingly to ensure understanding. Plan writing processes, set timelines, and deadlines. Collaborate with graphic designers to create diagrams, charts, and visual aids to enhance understanding.
