Job summary

Leidos seeks an experienced Technical Writer Lead for the DISA Defense Red Switch Network on the GSM-O II contract at Fort Meade, MD. You will lead documentation efforts translating complex system information into clear materials for technical and non-technical audiences.

You will oversee creation of TIGs, SOPs, HTML pages in Markdown, and briefing presentations, while coordinating with SMEs. Strong editing, architecture, and AI-assisted drafting are essential in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience writing technical documentation for technical and non-technical audiences
• Advanced skills using MS Office Suite and editing in markdown language
• Experience in creating technical diagrams and specifications using Visio
• Experience writing in a structured authoring environment
• Ability to translate technical information into user-friendly documentation
• Ability to learn new technical information quickly and convey concepts to diverse audiences

Responsibilities

• Lead the development, writing, editing, and proofreading of technical manuals and provide overall writing support for the team
• Manage Complex Artifacts: edit, clarify, and proofread documents; research to support technical content
• Design information architecture for document repositories and HTML pages
• Oversee the documentation lifecycle with drafting, editing, testing, and deployment
• Collaborate with systems engineers and SMEs to validate content and templates
• Leverage AI to improve throughput and draft templates and early drafts
• Monitor IAAs/MOAs and ensure G-Invoicing compliance for 7600 services
