Dhaka Technologies Limited Company in Washington, DC is hiring a Technical Writer (Journeyman) for a DC Government client. The writer will develop, review, edit, and maintain clear, user-friendly documentation to support agency operations and communications.

The role emphasizes consistent content, adherence to agency standards, and collaboration with program staff to translate technical information into audience-appropriate content. This is an onsite, contract opportunity with W2/1099 engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, Journalism, Public Administration, or related field.
• 1–6 years of professional experience in technical writing, editing, or document management.
• Experience editing website content and technical or administrative documentation.
• Experience developing and maintaining SOPs.
• Excellent written, verbal, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.
• Experience using CMS for website updates preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review, edit, and update agency website content for accuracy and branding.
• Draft, revise, and maintain website text, announcements, newsletters, and guidance documents.
• Edit and proofread a variety of materials for grammar, punctuation, clarity, tone, and formatting.
• Review, update, and standardize SOPs and other operational docs.
• Format documents, reports, manuals, presentations, and correspondence for distribution.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts to translate technical information into clear content.
• Ensure documents comply with style guides, controls, and policies.
• Maintain document version control and organize agency documentation.
• Suggest improvements to documentation processes and templates.
