Job summary

Centurum, Inc. in San Diego, CA seeks a Technical Writer II (Depot) to identify and resolve issues in C4ISR technical documentation. You will integrate CAD/BOM and test procedures, liaise with engineering and IPTs, and ensure timely, accurate publishing across lifecycle documents.

Requires three years of DoD C4ISR documentation experience, a Bachelor's degree, and the ability to obtain a Secret clearance. On-site location with full benefits offered.

Job description

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Unique position identifying and assessing issues with technical documentation for Command, Control, Communications, Computers (C4), Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) (C4ISR) components and systems. Integrates support elements and resources into technical documentation to ensure schedule, scope, and quality are met during development, revision, editing, and publishing. Technical documentation required to ensure lifecycle support of C4I components and systems includes Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), Computer Aided Drawings (CAD), Bill of Materials (BOM)/Parts List (PL), Test Procedure, First Article Unit, Wiring Diagram, Assembly Instructions, Disassembly Instructions, and Paint Procedure. Must possess significant technical writing experience, including the ability to liaise with and between an engineering staff and average joe’s (with little or no technical experience). Must have the ability to understand technical requirements (technical publications and drawings); research and collect parts, systems, and programs data and research obsolescence issues. Must be experienced and comfortable working with other contractor personnel and interfacing/coordinating with Government Integrated Product Team (IPT) Leads and Contracting Officer Representatives (CORs). Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills including ability to communicate verbally and in writing.

REQUIRED SKILLS/YEARS OF EXPERIENCE

Three years current or other relative experience supporting DoD C4ISR projects with analysis, generation, tracking, and corrections of relevant data; demonstrated ability to communicate in a group environment and work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders. The Project Analyst should also have experience in resolving process procedures and conflicts to optimize outcomes.

PREFERRED SKILLS

Computer aided design (CAD) skills is a plus. Quality Management System (QMS) experience that is compatible with ISO 9001:2015.

REMARKS

Must have better than average experience with Microsoft Office products. Must be able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Must be able to interface effectively with all levels of technical and management personnel.

Compensation: $40.70 - $48 an hour. Compensation for positions at Centurum vary depending on a wide range of factors including, but not limited to, location, responsibilities, skill set, and level of experience.
