What to Expect (Job Responsibilities)
  • Develop and author XML files, creating and editing new and existing Interactive Electronic Technical Manual (IETM) Data Modules (DMs)
  • Update and utilize business rules, DMRL, ICNs, and BREX, and create illustrations from source data
  • Perform Quality Assurance (QA) reviews of technical manual data for compliance with military specifications
  • Prepare Pub PDF conversion, linking, and bookmarking according to Naval Air Technical and Engineering Command (NATEC) guidelines
  • Utilize various software tools including MS Office, EAGLE Editor, and PTC Arbortext for technical documentation tasks
What is Required (Qualifications)
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of six (6) years of related work experience in technical writing and documentation support
  • Experience in documenting, planning, and writing for highly technical project-related work
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Must have reliable at-home internet and be able to work 40 hours per week consistently
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications)
  • Experience with technical publication and/or IETM related to NAVAIR, S1000D, and related military standards
  • Familiarity with EAGLE CSDB, PTC Arbortext, and other specified software for technical documentation
  • Strong attention to detail in technical writing and editing
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment
