Position Overview and Responsibilities

Red Peak Technical Services, LLC, a subsidiary of Alutiiq, LLC, is seeking a Technical Writer II in Havelock, NC. This role involves supporting H-1 FST for H-1 FMS tech data and S1000D IETMs onboard the government site at FRCE Cherry Point NC. The position includes providing a government NMCI asset and may offer telework options pending government TOCOR approval.

Primary Duties

• Prepare Technical Manual Evaluation Record (TMER) for all technical manual data for USG verification.
• Digitize and record comments using USG-provided scanning and conversion tools, including revisions and RACs.
• Update front matter, inventory, process, and archive source data, checklists, and other documents.
• Conduct QA reviews for compliance, consistency, usability, and accuracy of technical data.
• Author and edit xml files, create and modify IETM Data Modules.
• Create and edit illustrations, wiring diagrams, and graphics in specified formats.
• Develop scripts, run reports, manage tracking numbers, and control database of TMSDRs.
• Handle cancellation, re-issue, and redistribution of data.
• Maintain database integrity and manage data files.
• Assist with PDF conversions, linking, and bookmarking per NATEC guidelines.
• Modify and release data items like IRACs, TPDRs, and TMSDRs, linking and bookmarking IRACs for posting on NATEC website.
• Manage and archive data files, update publication management files, and support government-provided tools and processes.
• Apply knowledge of TM styles, formatting, and standards such as S1000D, MIL-DTL-81927, MIL-STD-3001, etc.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED.
• Minimum two years of technical writing and documentation support experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, 40 hours/week.
• U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain a CAC card.
• Experience in documenting, planning, and supporting technical projects and proposals.
• Preferred: Experience with NAVAIR standards, IETMs, and related tools like EAGLE CSDB, PTC Arbor text, MS Office, Perl, AutoCAD, etc.
• Strong attention to detail.
