Job Description

Job Title: Technical Writer II

Location: Des Plaines, IL

Period: 06/24/2024 to 12/30/2024

Hours/Week: 40 hours

Rate: $18-$22/hr

Contract Type: W-2, temp to perm potential

Scope of Services:

The Technical Writer creates a variety of technical articles, reports, brochures, and manuals for documentation purposes. Responsibilities may include coordinating graphics display and document production. Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures is required. The role relies on limited experience and judgment, and involves a degree of creativity and latitude.

Role, Responsibilities, and Deliverables:
  1. Write and edit technical content for documentation, including articles, reports, brochures, and manuals.
  2. Coordinate graphics and visual elements to enhance document presentation and clarity.
  3. Follow established standards, guidelines, and procedures for technical writing.
  4. Use creativity and judgment to organize content to meet project goals.
  5. Collaborate with subject matter experts and stakeholders to gather accurate and relevant information.
  6. Produce high-quality, clear, concise, and accurate technical documentation.
  7. Ensure documents adhere to formatting and style standards.
  8. Coordinate graphics and visual elements effectively.
  9. Complete writing tasks on time, meeting deadlines and objectives.
  10. Work effectively with team members and stakeholders for information gathering and accuracy.
Experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree or 2-4 years of related experience preferred.
  • Previous technical writing experience, preferably in a corporate or technical environment.
  • Proficiency in writing and editing technical content.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures in technical writing.
  • Strong attention to detail and adherence to standards.
  • Creativity and adaptability in organizing content to meet project goals.
