General Dynamics NASSCO is seeking a Technical Writer to develop ship-specific manuals from engineering data in accordance with contract requirements and standards. You will collaborate with the ILS Provisioning team to ensure manuals reflect installed equipment and support alignment with Logistics Support Information.
You will work with project stakeholders across engineering, production, quality, and regulatory bodies, applying company style guides and document standards.
Develops ship unique, system level technical manuals from available engineering data in accordance with applicable ship construction contract requirements, commercial standards and established procedures. Develops contractually compliant equipment manuals from Vendor Furnished Information and OEM documentation. Reviews related vendor furnished information and provide corrective feedback when required. Collaborates with ILS Provisioning team to ensure alignment between tech manuals and Logistics Support Information. Validates special purpose and equipment technical manuals to ensure manuals accurately reflect the installed equipment/system configuration.

Will work directly with all project stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Program Management Office, Production, Ship’s Management, Quality Assurance, Planning, Cost Estimating, and other disciplines as required.
The essential functions of this role are performed in an office setting. The role requires prolonged periods of working in a stationary position, operating a computer, computer programs, and standard office equipment necessary to perform the essential duties. The role requires perceiving information and communicating effectively with others in person, online, and on the phone.
