Job summary

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Proficiency in MS Office is required.
  • Experience with FrameMaker, Illustrator, and Photoshop or similar software is required.
  • Experience with CAD software is required.
  • Mechanical, hydraulic or electrical knowledge is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with engineering, service, product safety, and other SMEs to develop machine-specific content for service manuals using clear and concise language.
  • Revise existing content in manuals and create content for small models.
  • Complete one or more projects with narrow scope.
  • Create content-related illustrations using 2D/3D graphical programs, digital photographs, and drawings from solid models.
  • Research vendor information for specs, troubleshooting, and repair procedures related to mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical components.
  • Submit drafts and collaborate with reviewers to create a final copy for publishing.

Job Summary

Are you the type of person who is quick to learn, diligent and detail-oriented? In this role you will collaborate with engineering, service, and other subject matter experts to create technical documentation for machine-specific service manuals. We’re looking for individuals who can think critically, are detail-oriented, imaginative, and that work well collaboratively.

What You’ll Do

1. Collaborate and manage relationships with engineering, service, product safety, and other subject matter experts to develop machine-specific content for service manuals using clear and concise language.

2. Revise existing content in manuals, create new content for small models.

3. Complete one or more projects with narrow scope.

4. Create content-related illustrations using 2D/3D graphical programs, digital photographs, and drawings or diagrams from solid models.

5. Research vendor information for specifications, troubleshooting, and repair procedures related to mechanical, hydraulic, and/or electrical components.

6. Submit draft(s) and collaborate with reviewers (engineering, service, product safety/legal, technical editor) to create a final copy for publishing.

What We’re Looking For

- Bachelors degree in a technical field such as industrial design, graphic design, or related field; and/or equivalent combination of education and job-related experience required.

- Ability to use MS Office required.

- Experience with Adobe FrameMaker, Illustrator and Photoshop or similar software required.

- Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design) software required.

- Mechanical, hydraulic and/or electrical experience preferred.

Travel

- Occasional travel is expected of this position.

Work Location

HYBRID: Some of a team member’s day-to-day work may be best done at a location other than a Vermeer campus. Discuss specific arrangements with your manager.
