Job summary

Blue Water Thinking is seeking an experienced Technical Writer to support the VA OTG. This role will develop clear, concise technical communications, reports, briefs, presentations, summaries, and white papers for VA stakeholders, translating complex information into accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences, across fast-paced programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or another technical discipline, or 4 additional years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• 3+ years of related experience in technical writing, communications, documentation, or project coordination.
• Strong writing, editing, proofreading, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop, edit, and refine technical reports, briefs, summaries, presentations, and white papers.
• Translate complex technical information into clear content for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Tailor messaging, format, and level of detail based on audience and purpose.
• Proofread and edit materials for accuracy, consistency, tone, and compliance with VA and OTG standards.
• Work with stakeholders to clarify requirements, objectives, and desired outcomes.
• Collaborate with SREs, data scientists, AI engineers, technical SMEs, and other team members.
• Coordinate multiple work products, priorities, and deadlines across teams.
• Support technical documentation related to systems, data flows, integrations, and IT operations.
