QinetiQ US is seeking a Technical Writer to provide direct IT communications and documentation support to FHWA's OITS, delivering SOPs, user guides, FAQs, and presentations. You will translate technical content for non-technical audiences and ensure all outputs meet Section 508 accessibility standards.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree, at least 2 years of technical writing, and the ability to obtain a DOT Public Trust. A hybrid work arrangement with on-site presence at U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• At least 2 years of technical writing experience.
• Experience producing 508-conformant documents.
• Experience writing SOPs and user guides for IT systems.
• Proficiency with Google Workspace and/or Microsoft 365.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DOT Public Trust.
• Hybrid role with on-site presence at U.S. DOT Headquarters, Washington, DC.

Responsabilités

• Write, edit, and format agency-wide IT communications.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, user guides, job aids, checklists, and FAQs.
• Develop and maintain SDLC documentation and control-gate artifacts.
• Create announcements, flyers, and slide decks for IT Office Hours.
• Ensure all deliverables conform to Section 508.
• Advise FHWA staff on accessible documents.
• Review intranet, SharePoint, and Google Sites content for usability.
• Support change management communications by tracking drafts.
• Maintain a documentation status tracker and templates library.
• Gather information from subject matter experts during meetings.
• Capture user questions to identify recurring issues.
