QinetiQ US is seeking a Technical Writer to provide direct technical writing support to FHWA’s Office of Information Technology Services, developing training materials, self-help guides, and style guides while ensuring 508 compliance.

A minimum of 2 years of technical writing experience, a Bachelor's degree, ability to obtain DOT Public Trust, and strong written and verbal communication; proficiency with Windows and Outlook is expected.

Qualifications

  • 2+ years of technical writing experience.
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Ability to obtain/maintain DOT Public Trust.
  • Proficiency with productivity tools in Windows and Outlook.
  • Experience with 508 compliance and related tools.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop extensive user guides for SRM; design style guides to update websites.
  • Curate training materials that meet 508 compliance using CommonLook PDF.
  • Write articles on DOT technology, cybersecurity, etc., for internal distribution.
  • Provide content support for reports and customer-facing materials including PPTs.
  • Edit, research, and track change management communications through the federal approval chain.
  • Author non-scientific technical reports such as guidance circulars, SOPs, policies, memos, and training materials.
