Technical Writer - Contract Position (Remote US or Europe)
Join us as a Technical Writer on a contract basis (four months) at Spacelift. This role offers the possibility of transitioning to full-time employment.

Role Responsibilities
- Procure, write, edit, and maintain technical documentation for our products.
- Translate complex workflows into clear, step-by-step guides for a technical audience.
- Collaborate with Development, Product Management, Support, and Solutions Engineering teams to gather and verify technical information.
- Develop and maintain style guides and standards for documentation contributors.
- Manage documentation source files using GitHub, including pull requests and version control.
- Review and provide feedback on content contributions from team members.
- Enhance the usability and consistency of documentation for diverse technical audiences.
- Lead documentation planning, conduct content audits, and drive continuous improvements.
- Track and manage documentation issues via GitHub.
- Participate in usability testing and incorporate feedback to improve documentation quality.
Candidate Requirements
- Native English speaker proficient in US English with at least 2 years of technical writing experience.
- Proven experience in software or technology documentation.
- Proficiency with Git and GitHub for version control and collaboration.
- Strong technical writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Highly collaborative and customer-focused attitude.
- Experience with MkDocs and Markdown language.
- Experience documenting APIs, SDKs, or command-line tools.
- Ability to simplify complex technical concepts.
- Basic understanding of DevOps, cloud technologies, and IT practices.
- Knowledge of additional IT automation and orchestration tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, CI/CD workflows) is a plus.
- Experience contributing to open source projects or maintaining public GitHub documentation is a plus.
