Job description:

Seeking Technical Writers to join our high-performing team in developing technical documentation for advanced military systems, including radars for F-22, F-35, Joint Strike Fighter, F-16, B-1B, MESA, G/ATOR, VADER, and other UAV systems.

Responsibilities:
  • Write, rewrite, and edit technical documents such as manuals, procedures, specifications, and publications to communicate technical information clearly to diverse audiences.
  • Oversee preparation of illustrative materials, including drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts.
  • Conduct quality reviews of materials.
  • Publish materials in various formats, including page-based, electronic (interactive), structured (HTML, XML, SGML).
  • Collaborate with task leads, engineers, and instructors to develop and deliver sensor/system technical manuals.
  • Perform Desktop Publishing for reports, whitepapers, articles, and other documents.
  • Research and compile information from program documents and engineering sources to develop manual outlines, adhering to military/civilian standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Qualifications:

Successful candidates will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, be proactive, organized, and self-motivated.

Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree in STEM or related field, or military experience with radar, communications, electro-optics, networks, and sensors/systems.
  • Proficiency in MS Office products.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience with structured authoring tools like MadCap, FrameMaker, or Arbortext.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Minimum 5 years’ technical writing experience.
  • Knowledge of content management strategies.
  • Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (ASD-STE 100).
  • Familiarity with standards such as XML, SGML, HTML, S1000, and DITA.
  • Possession of and ability to maintain DoD Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI).
