Technical Writer 1/2

Location: Odenton, Maryland. Type: Full‑time, On‑site.

Job Summary

Responsible for creating, editing and maintaining technical documents such as software, systems engineering, system operations, testing and user documentation. Provides documentation across the software development life cycle and collaborates with developers and subject‑matter experts.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare, review, revise, and maintain technical documents across software and systems engineering topics.
• Write technical copy for configuration guides, how‑to documentation, implementation guides, end‑user guides, field, data definition and data flow documentation.
• Format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings and other resources.
• Maintain an up‑to‑date internal documentation library.
• Use MS Word, PowerPoint, Visio and other authoring tools.
• Work with developers to produce quality documentation and training materials.
• Coordinate layout and design of documents.
• Prepare reports, responses and briefings for a broad audience.

Required Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI security clearance with agency‑appropriate polygraph.
• Two (2) years of experience as a Technical Writer in programs and contracts of similar scope, type and complexity.
• Associate’s degree in a technical discipline from an accredited institution (or two (2) years of additional TW experience may substitute for the degree).

Salary & Benefits

• Pay range: $33.67 – $41.67 per hour (pre‑benefit).
• Hourly pay rates are a general guideline and may vary by contract, education, experience, skills, certifications and location.
• Company automatically contributes 20% of each employee’s gross compensation to a Simplified Employee Pension (SEP) IRA; contributions are fully vested from day one.
