Job summary

D & R Technical Solutions is seeking a Technical Writer in Vestal, NY for developing and maintaining hardware and software documentation. The role combines at-home work with periodic office visits, and offers flexible scheduling and a strong benefits package.

You will produce operation theories, diagrams, and maintenance procedures, coordinating with graphics and publishing teams, while meeting project deadlines and customer requirements.

Qualifications

• Superior communication skills, written and verbal.
• Ability to interact with co-workers and customers both virtually and in-person.
• Availability of secure and reliable internet connection for work from home activity.
• Availability to work in the office as needed is required.
• Ability to work within a defined scope to meet established deadlines.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and schematic diagrams.
• Skilled with Microsoft Office applications; Word, Excel, Access.
• Willingness to travel as needed a must.
• Veteran / Military experience a plus.
• Product Support experience a plus.

D & R is a locally owned company, in business since 1990, located in Vestal, NY. We support commercial and defense firms in the development of their products. Those products are as diverse as subway cars, locomotives, military ships, trucks, jets, engine/generator sets, electronic equipment and much more. Our current work structure is a hybrid arrangement of work from home with occasional office visits. Duties may include any of the following aspects of technical documentation development.
