Job summary

Insight Global seeks a Technical Writer – Manufacturing Operations to develop and maintain standardized work instructions, visual aids, and training materials for manufacturing, welding, machining, and related processes.

You will observe processes, interview SMEs, and translate technical information into concise, repeatable instructions to support operations, quality, and customer requirements. Strong manufacturing knowledge and communications skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience developing technical documentation in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience documenting manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, machining, welding, or industrial processes.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and manufacturing documentation.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Visio or equivalent diagramming software.
• Associate degree in Technical Communication, Manufacturing Technology, Engineering Technology, Business, or related discipline; equivalent experience may be substituted.

The Technical Writer – Manufacturing Operations is responsible for developing, revising, and maintaining standardized work instructions, visual work aids, process documentation, and training materials that support manufacturing, fabrication, welding, machining, assembly, inspection, coating, and related operations.

Working closely with production personnel, quality, engineering, and operations leadership, this role will observe manufacturing processes, interview subject matter experts, and translate technical information into clear, concise, and repeatable instructions that support operational excellence, workforce training, quality compliance, and customer requirements.

The ideal candidate possesses strong technical writing skills, manufacturing process knowledge, and the ability to effectively communicate with personnel at all levels of the organization.
