Actalent is seeking a Technical Writer to join our engineering team in Bedford, MA. This contract role focuses on translating complex technical information into clear documentation that supports product development, production, and customer use.

You will work with engineers, manufacturing, quality, and program management to create and maintain work instructions, procedures, manuals, and training materials, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance throughout the product lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
• 2+ years of technical writing experience in engineering, manufacturing, industrial, aerospace, medical device, semiconductor, or tech environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Create, edit, and maintain technical documentation including work instructions, operating procedures, engineering specifications, product manuals, test procedures, installation and maintenance guides, training materials.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and program management teams to gather technical information.
• Review drawings, CAD models, BOMs, and design documentation to ensure accuracy.
• Organize and standardize documentation templates and document control processes.
• Revise documentation based on engineering changes and product updates.
• Ensure documentation complies with quality standards and regulatory requirements.
• Support new product development by creating documentation throughout the product lifecycle.
• Maintain document version control and assist with document management systems.

About the Role

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Bedford, MA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $50.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
