Overview

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description Position Summary The Technical Training Specialist is a strategic and hands-on leader responsible for designing, developing, and delivering impactful training programs across sales, manufacturing, and office functions. This role blends technical training expertise with curriculum design and organizational development to enhance employee performance, engagement, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate will partner with leaders across departments to align learning initiatives with business goals and foster a culture of continuous improvement.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct training needs assessments through surveys, interviews, focus groups, and collaboration with leadership.
  • Design, develop, and deliver engaging, role-specific training programs for sales, manufacturing, and office personnel.
  • Create and maintain skills matrices in partnership with department heads.
  • Develop content for SOPs, product training, equipment operation, and technical systems (CRM, ERP, IT ticketing, etc.).
  • Build a network of mentors, subject matter experts (SMEs) and potential trainers through a train-the-mentor program.
  • Facilitate in-person and virtual training sessions, workshops, and hands-on demonstrations.
  • Develop eLearning modules, job aids, and blended learning paths using instructional design best practices.
  • Evaluate training effectiveness using assessments, feedback, and performance metrics; iterate and improve content accordingly.
  • Maintain training documentation aligned with compliance, safety, quality standards, and organizational culture.
  • Liaise with management, HR and quality assurance staff to recommend process improvement projects identified through training development and documentation.
  • Develop a standard/template and associated tools that employees can use to create SOPs as well as workflow for approval if necessary.
  • Identify and document critical and common business practices to be captured as SOPs and determine best practice instructions across multiple workflows.
  • Lead onboarding programs for new hires across all departments.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Instructional Design, Education, Business, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in corporate or technical training and curriculum development, preferably in a sales or manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, sales cycles, and technical product knowledge.
  • Proficiency with instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and learning technologies (e.g., LMS, Articulate, Captivate).
  • Excellent facilitation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into accessible, engaging learning experiences.
  • Willingness to travel as needed.
  • Preferred Skills: Experience with ERP, MES, or CRM systems.
