Southern Home Services is seeking an HVAC Training Manager to develop, implement, and oversee training programs for technicians and managers across the U.S. Travel up to 50% to coach on-site and deliver hands-on learning in classrooms and labs.

You will create manuals, presentations, videos, and job-aids, and mentor staff while ensuring safety and compliance with industry standards. This exempt role offers growth opportunities and a dynamic, field-oriented work environment.

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years HVAC systems knowledge and industry standards; NATE preferred.
• Strong facilitation skills to engage technicians and act as HVAC SME.
• Experience creating training materials including manuals, guides, and videos.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement comprehensive training programs for HVAC technicians and managers.
• Coaching at company sites; conduct seminars, workshops, and one-on-one sessions.
• Create and maintain training materials: manuals, presentations, job-aids, videos.
• Provide on-the-job training and ride-alongs to ensure practical application of knowledge.
• Ensure safety procedures and regulatory compliance in training content.
• Stay up-to-date with industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Manage vendor training curricula for HVAC products.

About This Role

The HVAC Training Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing training programs for HVAC technicians and managers. This role will also visit our company sites to coach HVAC business and technician improvement opportunities in one-on-one and group settings. The outcome of these efforts will ensure technicians are proficient in the latest techniques, safety procedures, and industry standards, ultimately contributing to a skilled and efficient workforce that produces the best technicians in the business.

This role will require up to 50% travel and some nights and weekend work.

In This Role You Will Be Responsible For

• Working with the business and leverage reporting to identify training needs based on industry standards, company performance goals, and technician performance.
• Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of training programs and update as needed.
• Monitoring technician performance and identify areas for improvement through reporting analysis, performance evaluations and feedback.
• Accountable for designing, developing, and implementing comprehensive training programs for new hires, as well as ongoing professional development for experienced technicians and managers.
• Creating training materials, including manuals, presentations, job-aids and videos.
• Conducting seminars, workshops, and one-on-one training sessions to deliver training programs in classroom settings and in our HVAC labs for hands-on learning.
• Providing on-the-job training and mentoring to ensure practical application of knowledge and skills, including ride-alongs with technicians in our various locations.
• Ensuring that technicians are trained in safety procedures and regulations.
• Staying up to date on relevant industry standards and compliance requirements.
• Collaborating with other departments, site and regional leaders to achieve company goals and needs.
• Communicating effectively with business leaders and other stakeholders to ensure that all training needs are met.
• Vendor management of training curricula for all HVAC and HVAC related products.
• Project managing company-wide initiatives through all stages of the project lifecycle to ensure on time, on budget and effective delivery of outcomes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in-depth understanding of HVAC systems, techniques, and industry standards. NATE certification preferred.
• Excellent facilitation skills to keep technicians engaged during training sessions and thorough understanding of HVAC to serve as subject matter expert to design effective training programs.
• Training content development skills including PowerPoint presentations, facilitator and participant guides, other learning materials as needed.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences and build strong working relationships.
• Ability to lead and mentor technicians.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, produce, update documents and create timelines and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Suite products.

• Work is usually performed in an indoor office environment.
