Job summary

Baker Hughes is seeking a Technical Training Instructor (Wireline) to design and deliver technical training programs for wireline services across the region. You will support safe and consistent service quality while engaging field personnel through hands-on sessions and SME-led assessments.

Requirements include a bachelor’s degree and 5+ years of Baker Hughes wireline experience, plus proven coaching skills, strong communication, and the ability to lead competency definitions and learning paths

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain wireline training content (lessons, visuals, exercises).
  • Deliver instructor-led training at centers and field sites with travel as needed.
  • Lead classroom and hands-on sessions, aligned to procedures and safety standards.
  • Contribute to CMS/CMP development, learning paths, and assessment criteria.
  • Act as SME and competency assessor to standardize evaluations.
  • Maintain training documentation and version control; incorporate feedback.
  • Coordinate resources and ensure training aids, facilities, and tooling are ready.
  • Ensure content aligns with compliance requirements and current tooling.

As a Technical Training Instructor (Wireline), you will design and deliver technical training programs for the wireline population, supporting safe and consistent service quality across the region.

As a Technical Training Instructor, you will be responsible for:
  • Design, develop, and maintain wireline technical training content (lesson plans, presentations, practical exercises, and knowledge checks) covering Open Hole, Cased Hole, Pipe Recovery, Slickline, Tractor operations, and Pressure Control Equipment (PCE).
  • Deliver instructor‑led training from the training centers, with flexibility to travel and deliver training at field locations as business needs require.
  • Lead classroom and hands‑on practical sessions (as applicable), ensuring alignment to operational procedures, safety standards, and current equipment/tooling configurations.
  • Participate in the Competency Management System (CMS) and Competency Management Program (CMP) development, including competency definitions, learning paths, and assessment criteria for wireline services.
  • Is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) and competency assessor in at least one wireline service, supporting skill verification and standardized evaluation across the general field population.
  • Maintain accurate training documentation and version control of course materials, incorporating feedback from field operations, incidents/lessons learned, and process changes.
  • Coordinate training resources (as needed), including equipment/tooling availability, training aids, facilities readiness, and required support to enable effective course delivery.
  • Align training content and delivery with Wireline Operations and Baker Hughes compliance requirements, engaging relevant stakeholders to ensure training reflects current standards, procedures, and controls.

To be successful in this role you will have:
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Minimum of 5 years of Baker Hughes wireline experience.
  • Recognized as an experienced coach/mentor for field personnel, with the ability to transfer operational know‑how through structured training and on‑the‑job coaching.
  • Ability to serve as an SME and competency assessor in at least one wireline service, contributing to CMS/CMP development and competency sign‑off processes.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
  • Ability to influence others and lead small teams.
  • Ability to lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously.
