Job summary

AAA Northeast in West Springfield, MA seeks an Automotive Technical Trainer to design, develop, deliver and monitor training programs for technical and sales skills, safety and product knowledge. You will facilitate sessions in classrooms, regional centers, and virtual environments, adapt programs to varying audiences, and ensure knowledge transfer aligns with safety and quality standards.

Collaboration with management, vendors and staff, plus ongoing professional development and industry

Qualifications

• 6-8 years of relevant experience required
• 5+ years automotive repair experience required
• 1-3 years of facilitating live courses (in-person and virtual) required
• 3+ years towing experience preferred
• 2+ years supervisory experience preferred
• Current ASE electrical or engine repair certification (G1 & A6) and Wreckmaster Certification Level 2/3 within 1 year required
• Must be able to operate tow vehicles and pass Driver’s License Check; DOT physical within 180 days required

Job description

The incumbent is responsible for designing, developing, delivering and monitoring training programs. The Automotive Technical Trainer is responsible for consistency in delivering training material throughout the club's footprint. The incumbent builds relationships and works with business line management, contract facilities and internal staff to deliver world class service during all interactions.What you will do:Designs, develop and facilitates training programs emphasizing technical and sales skills, applications, vendor and product information, AAA quality standards and Five Diamond Member experience culture. Delivers training utilizing a variety of training techniques. Ensures trainees comprehend the complexity and depth of related information. Responsible for imparting and ensuring knowledge transfer of critical safety decisions related to real-time work conditions. Facilitates training programs in a variety of settings including formal classroom settings, various locations, regional training centers, distance learning and one-on-one training sessions. Training programs may be conducted after business hours. Depending on business line training may delivered to non-employees. Training may occur both indoor and outdoor in all weather conditions.builds professional relationships with AAA partners and vendors. Maintains high level of topical expertise and knowledge of all product offerings, industry trends, department policies and procedures. Participates in department meetings to communicate proactively the status of training initiatives, ideas, and concepts and to gather feedback from the management staff. Provides constructive coaching throughout training and nesting to help learners refine and enhance their technical and professional skills toward established standards. Acts as a performance consultant, analyzing work practices, coaching and reporting on perforance as related to job skills.Develops and adjusts training programs geared toward the depth of knowledge required by the trainees’ position and prior skills. Working with the Safety Manager, supports the estabilishment of a safety culture by incorporating safe working practices and OSHA requirements in all training programs.Remains knowledgeable of industry trends by attending related seminars and courses, and maintaining industry certifications. Represents the department and organization at club, community and industry functions.Assists the operatons during events or high call volume and weather related storms.
