Job summary

AAA Northeast in Providence, RI seeks a Fleet Operations Supervisor to oversee daily driver activities, train staff, and uphold safety and service standards. You will interview candidates, recommend hires, and continuously develop the team to deliver world-class AAA service.

You will monitor compliance, conduct on-the-job training, and accompany drivers on service calls while maintaining strong relationships with members.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree required.
• 3-4 years of relevant work experience required.
• 1-3 years on-the-job tow experience required.
• Supervisory experience preferred.
• Active and valid driver’s license from a single state or jurisdiction required.
• DOT card pre-hire and within 1 year of current employment required.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily activity of Fleet drivers, ensuring world-class service and safety.
• Interview and hire; identify training needs and evaluate performance.
• Focus on Five Diamond Service and member satisfaction; review schedules and approve overtime as needed.
• Deliver new-hire and refresher training on-the-job and in the classroom; train on policies and safety; educate on AAA products.
• Accompany drivers on service calls to assess delivery quality.
• Investigate incidents; resolve problems; ensure driver safety and protect property.
• Perform daily inspections of drivers and vehicles; ensure uniforms and trucks meet policy.
• Inspect fleet accident sites; assist with accident forms and damage reports.
• Investigate injuries; coordinate safety and workers’ comp matters.
• Conduct periodic inventory checks; notify management on reorders.
• Respond to road service calls for mechanical assistance.
• Open/close Fleet Operations Center as scheduled; ensure building is secured.
• Other duties as assigned.

Schedule: Tuesday-Saturday 11:00AM to 7:30PMOversees the day-to-day activities of Fleet drivers, monitoring service demands and field operations; trains drivers on all technical and procedural aspects of fleet, focusing on the world-class performance of Fleet staff; reinforces Five Diamond Service; ensures field operations and vehicle maintenance conform to Road Service policies and procedures.What you will do:Oversees the daily activity of Fleet drivers, monitoring activity to ensure delivery of world class service while adhering to safety procedures; interviews, makes hiring recommendations, identifies training needs and evaluates the performance of subordinate staff, ensuring adherence to department and Club policies and procedures; emphasizes Five Diamond Service and member satisfaction; reviews scheduling to ensure adequate staff coverage and obtains approval for overtime hours as necessary to meet service demand.Delivers new-hire and refresher on-the-job and classroom training, emphasizing policies, procedures and operational/personal safety; equips employees with knowledge of AAA products and services; emphasizes the importance of building relationships with each member contact; accompanies drivers on service calls, to assess service delivery; performs periodic training for AAA contract garages, reinforcing Club values, policies and procedures.Resolves service delivery or member problems, utilizing experience to resolve unusual service problems; ensures member satisfaction, driver safety and protection of property; identifies any repetitive problems and alerts management; acts as resource on questions of Club policies and procedures.Performs daily inspections of drivers and vehicles; ensures uniforms and trucks conform to Club policies (i.e., cleanliness, maintenance, safety device and equipment, etc); review driver logs for completion, alerting management of maintenance issues. Inspects fleet accident sites, representing Club as necessary; assists drivers with completion of accident forms; completes damage reports and provides additional information as necessary.Investigates driver injury incidents and ensure documentation/injury reports are completed; provides suggestions for proactive prevention of incidents and follows up with drivers to ensure proper care is taken to prevent injuries; informs Safety Manager, to ensure worker's compensation issues are appropriately addressed; may provide additional information for formal inquiries.Performs periodic inventory checks, ensuring adequate warehouse and on-truck supplies of needed equipment; informs management of reorder status.Responds to road service calls to provide mechanical assistance to members or fleet drivers as necessary.Opens/closes the Fleet Operations Center as scheduled, ensuring vehicles and building are properly secured.Other duties as assigned.Compensation: The pay range for this position is $74,500 - $94,500 / year. Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, shift differentials and experience. Annual bonuses are offered to employees and certain roles are eligible to earn additional forms of compensation through monthly and/or quarterly incentives.
