Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a related technical field with 8+ years of experience, or a Master's with 6+ years.
  • US Citizenship with ability to obtain a DoD Secret clearance.
  • Familiarity with Army Training Product development and IETM processes/standards.
  • Strong knowledge of the software development process.
  • Experience writing Training and Technical Publication documentation/products per Army and DoD standards.
  • Experience developing contract deliverables per Data Item Descriptions and Mil Standard documentation.
  • Ability to multi-task in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills to brief diverse audiences.
  • Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration with technical staff.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and XML authoring tools.

TheDefenseSector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Technical Trainer to support ourOrlandooffice. This is an exciting opportunity to use your experience helping theIntegrated Fires ProgramCapability mission.Weare developing both Mil Standard Technical Publications and various training products for the Fires Center of Excellence, Fort Sill OK.

Work Location:

This is a 100% remote position. Candidates must live within local commuting distance of the Orlando, FL office and be available to work onsite occasionally, as needed.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Work with otherTechnical Trainers/Training Developers, Technical Writers, System and Software Engineers, and subject matter experts to develop effective adult learning opportunities for customertraining audience.
  • In collaboration with other ISDs/Training Developers,candidatewill design and develop content/instruction and other learning solutions that prepare students with the knowledge needed to carry out their mission as defined by role and task.
  • Perform Task Analysis on newly developed software.
  • Develop/Design content/courses, and Mil Std Technical Publications in xml, incorporating technology into the design and delivery.
  • Consult with instructors and subject matter experts todetermineinstructional requirements, collect data, customize design proposals, and implement solutions.
  • Collaborate with technical developers/designers to produce media that supports instructional goals andobjectives.
  • Analyze, evaluate,observecourses to propose and plan design improvements.
  • Collectandanalyze reportsusingquantitative and qualitative data to inform design decisions or projects.
  • Use a range of educational technologies in support of synchronous,asynchronousand self-service teaching and learning.
Basic Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related technical field and 8+ years prior relevant experience or aMaster's Degree in a related technical field with 6+ years of prior relevant experience.
  • US Citizenship; Ability to obtain a DoWSecret security clearance.
  • Familiarity withArmyTrainingProductdevelopment and IETM development processesand standards.
  • Strong working knowledge of the software development process.
  • Experience in writing of all levels of Training and Technical Publication documentation/products IAW withArmyandDoWstandards.
  • Experience in developing contract deliverables per Data Item Descriptionsand Mil Standarddocumentation.
  • Able to multi-task, self-assign work, and function in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills with ability to brief various audiences on status of projects, as needed.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to negotiate and work with technical staff.
  • High levelofproficiencywith MS Office Products (Word, Excel, Visio, & PowerPoint, and XML authoring tools).
Preferred Qualifications.
  • Active Secret clearance.
  • Experience in developing and delivering Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETMs) in XML in accordancewith Mil Std 40051series.
  • Experience in developing and delivering technical publications, such as requirements specifications, user manuals, technical manuals, trainingmanualsand other documentationutilizedby end users.
  • Experience working on software development projects, especially Agile based development programs, withinDoW, USArmy.

Pay Range:Pay Range $65,650.00 - $118,675.00
