Leidos Defense is seeking a Training Manager to support the Indo-Pacific Logistics Support 2 (ILS2) Program. The Knowledge Management Specialist will support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of knowledge management processes, tools, and repositories that enable effective information sharing, collaboration, continuity, and decision-making across geographically dispersed program teams and mission partners.

Job summary:

The Training Manager will lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of comprehensive training and knowledge management programs supporting global integrated logistics and mission-enabling services. Working closely with program leadership, technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and mission partners, this role ensures the effective delivery of classroom, on-the-job (OJT), and distance learning to worldwide Government, partner nations, and allies.

The successful candidate will bridge the gap between technical operations and learning science, translating complex operational systems - including sensor modifications and degraded modes of operation - into practical, engaging curricula. Additionally, the Training Manager will oversee knowledge management environments (Microsoft 365, SharePoint), workflow automation, and structured repositories to ensure geographically dispersed teams have timely access to standard operating procedures (SOPs), readiness records, and actionable program information.

Primary Responsibilities.

  • Global Training Strategy & Delivery: Design and execute methodical, learning-science-based training strategies for a geographically dispersed workforce. Oversee and deliver all modes of training (classroom, OJT, and distance learning) at worldwide sites, including tailoring instruction into the customer’s native language when required.

  • Operational & Mission Systems Training: Develop comprehensive training documentation, manuals, and exercises for advanced technical systems. Create curricula covering normal and degraded modes of operation, as well as mission-specific training that addresses operating environments, physical threats, political concerns, and special operating considerations.

  • Instructional Design & Content Generation: Apply tested theories (ADDIE, SAM, Bloom’s Taxonomy) to create highly retentive training ecosystems. Design dynamic curriculum materials, including engaging presentations, instructional aids, and interactive simulations that address rapidly evolving solution sets and OEM-equivalent Factory Service Representative (FSR) requirements.

  • Knowledge & Records Management: Support and optimize MS 365 and SharePoint-based knowledge environments. Manage essential training administration, including rigorous quality control of materials, and maintain all personnel proficiency training data, flight time logs, and official training records.

  • Training Platform Coordination: Facilitate IT infrastructure and training platforms globally, ensuring systems are configurable to demonstrate realistic capabilities, including the modification of sensors, antennas, and onboard mission equipment for hands-on operational training.

  • SME & Customer Alignment: Work directly with functional leads and SMEs to conduct skills gap analyses, gather customer requirements, and translate complex processes into tailored, vendor-specific training for relevant logistics tools.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of prior relevant experience in curriculum development, training conduct, and instructional systems design.

  • Demonstrated experience managing and delivering training programs within geographically dispersed or OCONUS (Outside Continental United States) operating environments.

  • Experience supporting skills gap analysis, knowledge management, business process improvement, or technical documentation functions.

  • Proven ability to gather and analyze customer requirements and translate them into practical knowledge products, comprehensive curricula, or SOPs.

  • Strong technical writing, editing, analytical, and information organization skills, with the ability to communicate complex, technical tasks clearly and concisely.

  • Experience developing standard operating procedures, process documentation, user guides, and managing structured data repositories.

  • Ability to work independently, manage rapidly changing priorities, and effectively lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment.

  • Active Top Secret/SCI clearance

Preferred Qualifications

  • Domain Expertise: Experience supporting the Department of Defense (DoD), international logistics, or other highly regulated federal government programs. Familiarity with Navy Training System Plans (NTSP) or NAVEDTRA 130B & 131B standards is highly desirable.

  • Field Readiness: Willingness and ability to travel internationally and work in maritime, industrial, or forward-deployed environments, including visits onboard vessels in port.

  • Technical Skills: Microsoft Office (Advanced-level PowerPoint design required).

  • Authoring & Web Tools: Strong experience with industry-standard instructional design tools such as Articulate 360, Storyline, Adobe Captivate, or Camtasia. Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (e.g., Moodle, Canvas, etc.).

  • Continuous Improvement: Experience supporting lessons learned, after-action reporting, and organizational knowledge capture initiatives.
