Job summary

Qode in Washington DC seeks a Technical Trading Business Analyst to join our Investment Management technology team. You will work with Portfolio Management groups to ensure systems meet business needs and industry standards.

The role requires 5+ years as a BA in wealth/investment management, hands-on experience with portfolio platforms like Charles River or Bloomberg, and strong SQL skills. Hybrid work is offered with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Experience with portfolio management platforms and data concepts.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Portfolio Management groups to ensure system performance.
• Monitor start-of-day readiness and system health.
• Foster dialogue between business customers, Technology Teams, and vendors.
• Provide operational and incident support for applications.
• Perform root-cause analysis and propose preventive solutions.
• Define user stories and acceptance criteria from requirements.
• Define business, functional and technical requirements with diagrams.
• Participate in the software development lifecycle.
• Identify automation, restructuring, or elimination opportunities.
• Provide business recommendations based on analysis.
• Maintain accuracy while handling multiple requests with due dates.

Pay

$110K - $140K based upon experience

Location

Camas, WA or Plano, TX - Hybrid with 1 day a week from home after the first 90 days

Education

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience required

Experience

• 5+ years of experience working as a Business Analyst of a Wealth or Investment Management Technology team and product management experience
• Hands‑on experience in Portfolio management platforms like Charles River or Bloomberg
• Working knowledge of Portfolio management concepts (Positions, Trades, Securities)
• Technical experience in modifying and creating SQL queries to pull data

Responsibilities

• Collaborate closely with all Portfolio Management group—including Portfolio Accounting, Portfolio Analytics, Security operations, Portfolio Implementation, Portfolio engineering, Traders and Trading operations teams—to ensure the system performs as expected
• Monitor production platforms for start‑of‑day readiness and general system health
• Effectively foster dialogue and communication between internal business customers, Technology Teams, and application vendors
• Provide operational and incident support for assigned applications and modules
• Perform root‑cause analysis on production incidents and propose solutions to prevent recurrence
• Define user stories and acceptance criteria based on business requirements
• Define business, functional and technical systems requirements accompanied with solution detail and diagrams
• Participate in the software development lifecycle
• Identify ways to streamline processes by recommending items for automation, re‑structuring, or elimination
• Provide business recommendations based on critical analysis
• Maintain a high level of accuracy while managing multiple requests with varying complexities and due dates
