Job summary

SmartLogix is seeking a Technical Tester with strong SSIS knowledge to validate ETL processes during an SSIS migration initiative. The role focuses on backend data validation, ensuring data accuracy across environments and functional parity between legacy and upgraded systems.

The candidate will execute SSIS jobs, perform end-to-end ETL testing, document results, and collaborate with developers and QA leads to resolve data discrepancies. A strong analytical mindset and teamwork are essential.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of experience testing and validating ETL/ELT using SSIS.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Strong SQL Server and T-SQL skills for data verification and troubleshooting.
• Experience with Azure DevOps for documentation, validation tracking, and reporting.

Job Objective: Technical Tester with strong knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and backend data validation to support an SSIS migration initiative. This role is highly technical, focusing on validating ETL processes, verifying data accuracy across environments, and ensuring full functional parity between legacy and upgraded systems.

Responsibilities:

• Execute and validate backend processes developed in SSIS 2016/2022.
• Perform end-to-end testing of ETL workflows, data flows, and file generation.
• Compare outputs between legacy and upgraded environments to confirm data parity and functional equivalence.
• Document validation results, test cases, and comparison evidence in Azure DevOps.
• Collaborate with developers and technical leads to identify and resolve data or configuration discrepancies.
• Support QA and UAT certification by providing test evidence and validation reports.

Requirements

3–5 years of experience in: Testing and validating ETL/ELT processes using SSIS.

Plus: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Systems Engineering, or a related field.

Required Skills:

• Experience testing and validating ETL/ELT processes in SSIS.

• Familiarity with CA Workload Automation (ESP dSeries) or similar orchestration tools.
