Job summary

ACI Learning in Dallas, TX is seeking a part-time Teaching Assistant to support students pursuing CompTIA certifications. You’ll work with an instructor to keep learners engaged, assist with labs, and help ensure course momentum across a hybrid schedule.

This paid contract role offers a collaborative environment, exposure to real-world IT training, flexible hours—20 to 25 per week—and the opportunity to develop instructional skills while preparing students to succeed.

Qualifications

• Completion of an ACI Learning program containing two or more CompTIA-related courses within the last two years.
• At least one current, active technical certification earned through those programs (ITIL excluded).

Responsibilities

• Be the consistent, steady presence in the classroom that students rely on between instructor-led sessions.
• Show up prepared, watch for students who are falling behind, and provide timely support before issues escalate.
• Conduct workshops, labs, and exam prep sessions.
• Moderate discussions and keep student questions from going unanswered.
• Assist with Tier 1 technical issues and escalate as needed.
• Review course materials with the instructor before sessions begin.
• Collaborate with the instructor to create supplemental activities.
• Cover instructor sessions when needed.
• Take and track daily attendance.
• Prepare and maintain a clean, organized classroom environment.
• Welcome students and help set a positive tone in every session.

Teaching Assistant

Dallas, TX | Part-Time, Temporary | Remote/Hybrid | $20/hr

You've been where our students are. You know what it takes to get through a CompTIA certification program, and now you're ready to help others do the same. As a Teaching Assistant at ACI Learning, you'll work alongside an instructor to keep students engaged, supported, and moving toward their certification goals. This is a paid contract role at $20/hr for the duration of one course or program.

What You'll Do

You'll be the consistent, steady presence in the classroom that students rely on between instructor-led sessions. That means showing up prepared, watching for students who are falling behind, and stepping in with the right kind of support before they fall further.

• Proactively engage with students to offer academic and technical support
• Monitor student progress and flag concerns to the instructor
• Conduct workshops, labs, and exam prep sessions
• Moderate discussions and keep student questions from going unanswered
• Assist with Tier 1 technical issues and escalate as needed
• Review course materials with the instructor before sessions begin
• Collaborate with the instructor to create supplemental activities
• Cover instructor sessions when needed
• Take and track daily attendance
• Prepare and maintain a clean, organized classroom environment
• Welcome students and help set a positive tone in every session

What You'll Need (Requirements)

• Completion of an ACI Learning program containing two or more CompTIA-related courses within the last two years
• At least one current, active technical certification earned through those programs (ITIL excluded)

What We'd Like You to Have

• Interest in technical training or adult education, with a goal of developing instructional skills
• Desire to pursue a career path as a Technical Instructor, including willingness to participate in instructor development programs
• Experience in one or more of the following: mentoring, coaching, classroom instruction, course or curriculum development, or a supervisory role
• Three or more years of military experience at rank E-6 or above, or at least three years at rank E-5
• Two or more years as an instructor, teacher, or coach

What We Require

• Availability to attend every assigned class session on time, for the full duration of the contracted course
• Submission of a Weekly Activity Summary every Friday
• Ability to work in a hybrid format (some onsite presence required)
• Commitment to 20 to 25 hours per week for the contract term

What We're Counting on From You

• Pass all certification exams assigned to you during the contract term
• Show up on time for every assigned class, without exception
• Submit your Weekly Activity Summary each Friday, every week

At ACI Learning, we offer a competitive, experience-driven pay range that aligns with your qualifications and contributions. To that end, the posted hourly rate range reflects our most reasonable assumption of pay for this position at the time of posting.
