Position Title: Techline Specialist R00180253

Rate: $30/hr

Location: Smyrna, TN Field Quality Center (FQC)

Duration: Long-term contract with the possibility of extension or hire

Work Hours: W & F in office; 3 days VO; 7-4 CST shift

Job Summary

The ideal candidate is an auto technician seeking to stay in the auto industry by utilizing their technical and mechanical knowledge without turning wrenches daily.

Responsibilities include responding to TECH LINE cases via email, phone, and chat from dealership service technicians, providing technical information on diagnosis and repair, collecting and documenting technical information on new vehicle incidents, and preparing reports for engineering review.

Job Description
  • Provide help desk technical assistance and guidance to dealership service technicians regarding vehicle maintenance, service, or repair, aligning support with brand values, profitability, and cost reduction goals.
  • Document all cases with required details, search databases for similar cases, update reports, and close out completed reports. Analyze decisions from the customer’s perspective and recommend appropriate actions considering customer needs and values.
  • Gather feedback from dealership technicians on countermeasure procedures and communicate with various Nissan North America departments. Collaborate across functions, regions, and affiliates to meet reporting requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Knowledge and Skills: Thorough understanding of Nissan and Infiniti vehicle maintenance and repair, proficient in using technical service manuals and tools, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Experience: At least three years of automotive experience and one year of related professional experience.
  • Education: AA degree preferred; equivalent college courses, technical training, seminars, or in-house training considered. ASE Master Technician certification or similar preferred.
  • Computer Skills: Proficiency with word processing, spreadsheets, and other PC applications; typing speed of at least 30 wpm required.

Additional Skills: A typing test demonstrating a minimum of 30 wpm is required; please submit a screenshot of the results. No travel involved.
